Locality Types
Why do I say locality types?
I am in firm agreement with Greg Maxwell and other well known green tree python breeders when it comes to the subject of locality animals. I feel very strongly that labeling green tree pythons as being from any specific locality is (at least in the vast majority of cases) false advertising or, at best, wishful thinking. There is simply no reliable source for this information and the locality names used are almost certainly applied merely for marketing purposes. Despite the unreliability of locality labels, there are certain traits among various races which make them stand out and animals displaying these characteristics can properly be referred to as being of that type. The most obvious example is probably the Biak race which is known for their unique head shape and long darkly pigmented tail. Although animals with these traits are not necessarily of "pure blood," the label of "Biak type" does have some value in describing the animal.
There are numerous reasons for the unreliability of locality specific labels
